Coconut Slow Cooked Cereal


  • 1-13.5 oz can Coconut Milk (found in the baking section)
  • 1 cup steel cut oats (not instant)
  • 1 cup 5-grain cereal (not instant)
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut (sweetened or not)
  • 1 large apple, peeled, cored and diced
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • Garnishes: chopped nuts, toasted flaked coconut, diced apples or maple syrup.

The combination of Andre Prost Coconut milk, shredded coconut and grains makes this dairy-free cereal a long lasting, nutritious breakfast.


  • 10 minutes to assemble
  • 2 hours to cook on high, or
  • 3 hours to cook on low


  • Serves 8


  1. Lightly oil the inside insert of 6 quart slow cooker.
  2. Add Coconut Milk, oats, cereal, shredded coconut, diced apple, cinnamon, salt and 3 cups water. Mix well and cover. Cook on high or low.
  3. Serve with garnishes of choice.
